Physical Therapy
Strong, flexible core muscles are essential to a healthy back
At BODYFIRM studios we have developed Physical Therapy protocols - on the Pilates System
exercises that are some of the most challenging and effective to assist in rehabilitation of back problems.
Exercises that are designed to re-align and strengthen your body and are concentrated on your abdominal muscles also known as your Core
Core strength is the balanced development of the muscles that stabilize and move the trunk of the body, including the abdominal and muscles of the back. The goal is to develop the deep internal muscles of the trunk so that all the muscles are moving in the most efficient relation to each other
.
Examples: Core strength goes beyond the surface muscles and asks us to utilize our deep internal muscles to maintain stability in motion.
Pilates exercises were originally based on 5 principals Alignment, Flowing Breath, Centering, Concentration and Precise fluid movement. The therapists use these principles to aid in the proper retraining and strengthening of the spine and extremities.
Pilates mat are especially well suited to the rehabilitation of neck, back and extremity conditions pelvic floor, osteoporosis, arthritis, joint injury and sport injury

Deep Tissue Massage
A therapeutic oil based massage that will satisfy the needs of the individual, using a hands-on technique drawn from many of the world's great traditions, such as Acupressure, Thai, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Swedish & Kahuna Hawaiian styles - these techniques combine with the goal of releasing tension in the muscles of the body and opening up the channels or meridians through which the 'chi' (life force) flows.
This refined sense of touch, combined with the use of the world's leading massage styles give the practitioner the ability to release tension and flush toxins from the body. A massage that releases tension on this level works wonders both on a physical and emotional level
